Working safely in extreme conditions: Your Training course for underground work
Rely on maximum safety underground. Tunnel excavation work under hyperbaric conditions requires absolute precision from both personnel and equipment. Our training course imparts the essential expertise needed to minimize risks and manage operations without error.
Core competencies following the course:
- Safe tool change: Perfectly mastering hyperbaric workflows.
- Technical system knowledge: Safe and proper handling of airlocks, oxygen breathing apparatus, tools, and work equipment.
- Process reliability: Executing entry and exit procedures without errors
- Health protection: Reduction of accident and health risks
Course objective
Graduates of the “IHK Specialist for Underground Hyperbaric Work” certificate course acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge required for working under hyperbaric conditions. They learn how to safely operate personnel and material locks, oxygen breathing systems, tools, and work equipment. Furthermore, they are made aware of potential hazards, technical malfunctions, and health risks, and are prepared to respond correctly to irregularities and emergencies.
The IHK-certified training course comprises a total of 54 teaching units. Theoretical content is supplemented by extensive practical exercises. These include, among other things, lock-in and lock-out procedures, the operation of various airlock systems, the assembly and testing of oxygen breathing apparatus, and the preparation and inspection of tools and personal protective equipment.
The course concludes with a written test and a practical examination. Upon successful completion, participants receive the IHK certificate “IHK Specialist for Underground Hyperbaric Work.”
