The mobile medical chambers are CSC-approved 20-foot containers equipped with all the necessary technical equipment to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy in an emergency.

A container is equipped with a normal entrance door on one side and gullwing doors on the other side. At the client’s request, the container can be insulated and air-conditioned, as well as equipped with the appropriate electrical equipment.

The pressure chamber itself and the associated control panel are located in the container, along with the communication systems. On the one hand, these include the external chamber loudspeakers, which enable communication between the operator and the chamber.

In addition, the container is also equipped with a full-featured, hard-wired two-lock communicator system. This system has independent volume controls for the operator, as well as the pre-chamber and main chamber, and an on/off control.

What is included?

Technical Medical Chamber Equipment

For emergencies, the mobile medical chamber is equipped with comprehensive technical equipment, which can be divided into provisions for fire, ventilation systems, and gas supply, as well as heating and cooling systems.

Fire

Provisions for the Case of Fire

In case of fire, there is a fire extinguisher (10L) in each chamber, certified and equipped with safety valves. In addition, the main chamber and pre-chamber are equipped with a stationary built-in fire extinguishing system ( standard fire extinguishing system) in accordance with the European standard (EN). This fire extinguishing system can be activated both at the control panel and inside the chambers. In this case, the water supply is provided by an on-site water pipe.

In addition, there is still the possibility of installing a professional fire extinguishing system. This works the same way as the standard fire extinguishing system, except that no water connection is required here, as the system supplies itself via a pressurized water tank and a storage bottle.

Ventilation

Ventilation systems and Gas Supply

The mobile medical chamber contains a data recorder with an oximeter and a data recorder with an oximeter and CO₂ measurement. In addition, the equipment includes a CO₂ scrubber unit that allows CO₂ to be removed from the atmosphere in a diving system or decompression chamber. For this purpose, the unit consists of a fan that draws air through a canister filled with a CO₂ adsorbent (such as Sodasorb or Sodalime).

Oxygen System BIBS

Also installed in the medical chamber is the BIBS Oxygen System, which supplies up to eight people in the main chamber and four in the pre-chamber with an O₂/mix or air. The eight (MC) or two plus two (PC) mask connection points are installed with an overboard dump system, connecting each BIBS freely. Each inlet and outlet port has its own internal shut-off valve, and the inlet and outlet ports are equipped with a quick disconnect coupling.

BIBS Masks

The associated BIBS masks allow people in the pressure chamber to breathe an O₂/mix or air, according to the connected gas outside. The masks have both an inhalation valve and an exhalation valve, with an overboard release/vent system. This system prevents high oxygen levels in the chamber by venting the exhaled gas outside the pressurized air tank. In addition, the masks are equipped with connecting hoses with quick disconnect plugs.

Temperature

Heating and Cooling Systems

The mobile medical chamber is equipped with various heating and cooling systems. In general, there is hot water heating for the main and pre-chamber. This heating system makes it possible to heat the air supplied to the pressure chamber for pressurization or purging, thereby heating the chambers.

The internal hyperbaric chamber conditioning system is specifically designed for use in air compression chambers and medical hyperbaric chambers. The unit has a single heat exchanger for this purpose, which can be used for cooling or heating, depending on the temperature of the fluid supplied to the unit. If a cool liquid is used, the unit provides both cooling and dehumidification of the chamber environment. Two fans provide additional cooling and heating power. If there is a maximum cooling or heating demand, both fan motors can be operated; if there is less demand, only one motor can be used. Larger hyperbaric pressure and decompression chambers require several such units to ensure proper air distribution.

All electronics are potted in the polished stainless steel internal conditioning system for protection against the effects of pressure and moisture. A unique feature is that the unit is designed to operate in any mounting position and features a field-reversible heat exchanger. This allows the fluid ports to enter from the left or right side of the unit, allowing flexible placement within the chamber.

There is also the external hyperbaric chamber conditioning system, which is the supply source for the cooled or heated water. Here, the water circulates through the internal hyperbaric chamber conditioning system or a heating/cooling module that uses water. This external system is used especially for the heating and cooling of decompression chambers with double airlocks. When used with one or more internal units, the external hyperbaric chamber conditioning system provides temperature and humidity control by cooling and dehumidifying or heating the hyperbaric chamber environment. Optionally, a remote control switch can be used, which allows remote selection of heating, cooling or switching off.
